The new liposuction methods don't use traditional vacuum systems to extract fat. The Food and Drug Administration has just approved a new, less-invasive technique for liposuction called "laser body sculpting." Doctors say the laser system is best suited for targeting small fat deposits in otherwise healthy people, and it is not a cure for obesity.
These new liposuction techniques are also called SmartLipo or Laser Lipo.
Laserlipolysis is carried out basically according to the same principles as traditional liposculpture, but adds some unique features that make it different.
Many are attracted to try these new fat-eliminating methods due to the numerous advantages that they provide. As mentioned earlier, they introduce very little trauma to the body. This is because liquid fats are suctioned out of the body instead of solid fats.
Another advantage is that further cosmetic treatments (such as lifts and tucks) are not necessary. Unlike the traditional liposuction technique that usually leaves loose skin, newer methods automatically tighten the skin right after the treatment, meaning the need for additional secondary treatments is reduced.

To access new liposuction procedures, a candidate must satisfy the following criteria:- must be in good health
- must have good skin elasticity on the targeted area
- has maintained a desirable weight for more than a year (prior the procedure)
